Starfire holds 100% interest in the 5,550 hectare Porphyry Pearl property situated in the Toodoggone Mining District in Northern British Columbia. The main prospect on the Property is the Porphyry Pearl Zone, located 10 kilometers north of the Toodoggone River and 60 kilometers north-northwest of Northgate Minerals' Kemess Mine (production plus reserves containing 2.7 million ounces of gold and 700 million pounds of copper). Northgate's nearby Kemess North project (now on hold) reported a reserve in 2005 that contains 4.1 million ounces of gold and 1.45 billion pounds of copper.
Other significant deposits in the Toodoggone District include the epithermal Lawyers, Baker and Shasta mines, with the combined production of 235,000 ounces of gold and 5.5 million ounces of silver.
The company drilled 11 holes totaling 3,928 meters in 2007 and 2008. Highlights of the programs include
Hole core length(m) Au (grams/tonne)
PP-08-06 208.18 0.701
PP-08-07 140.36 0.668
PP-08-10 136.70 0.915
PP-08-11 143.25 0.508
A Titan 24 IP survey by Quantec Geoscience in 2009 indicates that the significant drill results are in a zone of anomalous chargeability with a strike of 1,000 meters, a width of 375 to 525 meters, and a thickness of 125 to 375 meters. The depth to the top of the anomaly varies from 20 to 300 meters. The potential target size of this anomaly estimated from these parameters approximates 210 million tonnes.
Funding of a follow up drill program (4,650 meters in 10 holes at a cost of $2,6 million) is a top priority for the Company.
